Former cowboy. Former blues musician. Former disc jockey. Chuck McKay has lived a few lives before landing in the one that stuck.

In the late 1980s, he bought, operated, and sold at substantial profit radio stations and a newspaper spread across the U.S. — from California to Texas to South Carolina. He went on to manage clusters of stations for some of the biggest radio companies in the world, before recognizing a conflict he couldn't resolve: the companies he worked for wanted him to sell advertising. Chuck wanted to help advertisers. Those goals overlapped less often than they should have.

Today, as a partner in the international Wizard of Ads® organization — one of 84 partners across nine countries, formed by legendary marketer Roy H. Williams — Chuck works exclusively for owner-operated businesses and professional practices. His MBA informs his strategy. His three decades on the ground inform everything else.

He has been featured on ABC and Fox Carolina Morning, and speaks regularly to business associations and builders groups across the region. His previous books include Fishing for Customers and Reeling Them In, The Personality Prescription, and Just in Time Storytelling.
